Terms of Use
The rules for using Credit Khata.
Last updated 2 September 2026
Credit Khata is published by Abdohoo. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What the app is
It is a bookkeeping tool. It records what a shop's customers owe and have paid, so a shopkeeper can keep a khata without paper. It is not a lender, a payment service, or a debt collector. We do not lend money, hold money, move money, charge interest, or take any part in the debts recorded in it. Everything in a ledger is between the shop and its customer.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over.
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- A branch login issued to you belongs to the shopkeeper who issued it. They can revoke it at any time.
- Tell us at once at support@abdohoo.app if you think someone else has your account.
If you record other people's information
Shopkeepers enter details about their customers — names, contact details, and what they owe. If you do that, you are responsible for having a proper basis to record it, for keeping it accurate, and for handling requests from those customers about their own information. Do not record more than your shop actually needs. Do not record government identity numbers, payment card numbers, or anything about a person's health, beliefs or politics.
Content you upload
You can add a logo, a banner, a tagline, a description, social links and free-text notes on ledger entries. Some of that is shown to the customers linked to your shop. You keep ownership of what you upload, and you give us permission to store it and display it to those users so the app can work.
What is not allowed
Do not upload, post or send anything that:
- is sexual, sexually suggestive, or involves a child in any sexual way;
- harasses, threatens, bullies or demeans a person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, caste, disability, gender or sexuality;
- is violent, or promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm or terrorism;
- is illegal where you are, or promotes illegal goods, drugs or weapons;
- impersonates another person or business, or misrepresents who you are;
- is spam, a scam, or an attempt to obtain someone's credentials or money by deception;
- infringes somebody else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- publishes another person's private information without their agreement.
Do not use the app to demand repayment abusively, to threaten a customer, or to shame anyone publicly over a debt.
Reporting content
If you see something in the app that breaks these rules, report it. In the app, open the shop and choose Report. You can also email support@abdohoo.app. Reports reach our moderators, who review them and can remove content, suspend a shop, or close an account. We aim to look at every report within 72 hours, and sooner for anything involving a child, a credible threat, or an immediate risk to someone.
Blocking
A customer can unlink a shop from their account at any time, from the khata list in the app. Unlinking ends that connection: the shop's storefront and its notifications stop reaching you. It does not settle a debt, and the shop keeps its own record of your trade.
Enforcement
We can remove content, and suspend or close an account, when these terms are broken. Where it is reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first, but we may act immediately when there is a risk to someone's safety or a legal requirement to do so.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time — in the app, or at https://duk.abdohoo.app/legal/delete-account. What is deleted and what is kept is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it is provided as-is. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — shopkeepers can export their customer list from the app at any time. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
